CLAAS — провідний світовий виробник обладнання для збору кормів, пропонуючи широкий асортимент продукції, від інноваційних рішень для зелених культур до потужних комбайнів JAGUAR.

The profitability of animal husbandry today increasingly depends not only on the herd size or sales market but, primarily, on the quality of feed. And high-quality feed begins with harvesting technologies.

In the context of a full-scale war, Ukrainian agricultural companies are forced to adapt rapidly: seek stable income sources, increase the efficiency of every hectare, and diversify production. For many farms, animal husbandry has become a strategic direction, with its real profitability growing year by year.

At the same time, the key challenge—timely and high-quality feed harvesting—is also intensifying. Equipment must operate quickly, stably, and without compromising quality. This affects not only the nutritional value of the feed but also the overall production cost of animal husbandry.

That is why farmers choose proven solutions. The “green line” of CLAAS machinery has long established itself as the benchmark for efficient feed harvesting. From mowers, tedders, and rakes to balers and high-performance forage harvesters—each machine from the German manufacturer is designed to deliver results.

New CLAAS JAGUAR 1000 Series Forage Harvesters

JAGUAR Forage Harvesters

In Ukraine, the CLAAS JAGUAR forage harvester lineup includes the 800 series—for small and medium-sized farms, and the 900 series—for maximum operational productivity. A recently unveiled CLAAS JAGUAR with a remarkable engine power of up to 1100 horsepower is on the horizon. However, let’s focus on the models currently available in our market for now.

The CLAAS JAGUAR 800 series comprises five models: JAGUAR 840 with 354 hp, JAGUAR 850 with 428 hp, JAGUAR 860 with 490 hp, JAGUAR 870 with 544 hp, and the JAGUAR 880, whose maximum engine power reaches 653 hp.

The CLAAS JAGUAR 900 series also features five forage harvester models: CLAAS JAGUAR 950 with 544 hp, CLAAS JAGUAR 960 with 653 hp, CLAAS JAGUAR 970 with 790 hp, CLAAS JAGUAR 980 with 850 hp, and the most powerful model in the series—the CLAAS JAGUAR 990, equipped with a V12 engine delivering up to 925 hp.

All JAGUAR forage harvester models are equipped with the most advanced technological solutions (and there are many of them), as CLAAS is a global leader in implementing innovations in this equipment segment.

NB: A key feature of their design is the unique SHREDLAGE® corn silage processing technology, which provides intensive grain and mass splitting, increasing its active surface area several times over. This enhances the nutritional value of corn silage.

It also incorporates an innovative mass flow concept for high operational efficiency with minimal fuel consumption. CLAAS’s proprietary systems for automating work processes, monitoring machine status, maximizing operator ease, and minimizing human factors are virtually unparalleled.

CLAAS offers three CLAAS connect packages for JAGUAR 800 and 900 harvesters, developed for perfectly precise operation:

  • CLAAS connect for monitoring;
  • CLAAS connect Professional for monitoring, steering, and precision farming;
  • CLAAS connect Professional with NUTRIMETER: monitoring, steering, and precision farming with information on forage mass components.

The exclusive NUTRIMETER technology is a high-precision sensor for measuring dry matter content and components in field conditions. In addition to determining the composition of the plant mass, it provides accurate documentation and visualization of crop yield, as well as automatic adjustment of chopping length and silage inoculant dosage. All of this directly impacts feed quality and, consequently, the profitability of animal husbandry.

The CEMOS AUTO KNIFE CONDITION system continuously monitors the condition of the knives during chopping, recommending the optimal time and number of sharpening cycles to achieve the required sharpness.

The innovative CEMOS AUTO CROP FLOW system automatically controls the mass flow, constantly monitoring the operation of the forage harvester’s main components. In case of overload, it automatically stops mass feeding by disengaging the feeder and header. This prevents downtime in critical harvesting conditions.

The CEMOS AUTO PERFORMANCE system ensures up to 7% higher productivity per hectare per hour and 12% fuel savings. The JAGUAR maintains a constant engine speed and adjusts the harvester’s power and travel speed according to the current crop yield.

With the new CLAAS adapter, the ROVIO corn header can be mounted on the JAGUAR, allowing for the harvesting of whole crop silage. The new design of the pickup drum has increased forage harvesting productivity by 30%. Simultaneously, thanks to the integrated AUTO CONTOUR function, stubble height remains uniform, crop losses are minimized, and feed quality is noticeably improved.

These are far from all the innovative solutions available in JAGUAR forage harvesters. They are, first and foremost, high-performance and economical machines that will never let their owners down.

ROLLANT, VARIANT, and QUADRANT Balers

The CLAAS feed harvesting machinery lineup includes both round balers—ROLLANT—and square balers—QUADRANT.

CLAAS ROLLANT Round Baler

The ROLLANT machines currently have the highest global sales among balers for silage, attesting to their quality. A distinctive feature of their design is a fixed baling chamber, reinforced rollers, and a range of intelligent systems. Among these, the MAXIMUM PRESSURE SYSTEM (MPS) is noteworthy, applying additional pressure to the baled material.

With four uniquely shaped rakes, the CLAAS ROLLANT baler forms extra-dense bales with a diameter of 1.25–1.35 m, achieving a maximum output of up to 50 bales per hour.

The manufacturer offers ROLLANT balers in ROTO FEED and ROTO CUT versions. The ROTO FEED design features a high-performance spiral rotor that feeds the forage, accelerates its entry into the stationary chamber, and ensures exceptionally high compaction. The ROTO CUT version is equipped with 14 individually mounted knives, providing a chopping length of 70 mm.

CLAAS VARIANT round balers have also earned recognition from farmers worldwide. With a ROTO CUT chopping unit featuring 17 knives, they produce dense bales with diameters ranging from 0.9 to 1.8 m and a width of 1.2 m. These balers are designed for maximum operational versatility, capable of working equally well with all types of plant material, including silage.

A unique design feature of this model is the presence of four endless belts with dual drive in the baling chamber, a double tension lever system, and the SMART DENSITY automatic baling pressure regulation.

The CLAAS QUADRANT EVOLUTION square balers, recently updated with three types of chopping units—ROTO CUT, FINE CUT, or SPECIAL CUT—remain consistently in demand.

These machines are engineered for the highest operational productivity while achieving maximum bale density within a baling channel nearly 4 meters long. The innovative pickup technology of the QUADRANT allows for precise cleaning even on fields with extremely uneven surfaces.

A key highlight in the CLAAS QUADRANT baler’s design is the new knotters with enhanced knot strength and significant twine savings, which not only reduce costs but also substantially increase operational productivity.

DISCO Mowers

Mowers for feed harvesting represent another segment of agricultural machinery where CLAAS finds it hard to have competitors. It is enough to mention the popular DISCO model with the MAX CUT cutter bar. The German manufacturer offers a wide variety of these mowers—from models with a working width of 2.2 m to the DISCO 1100 with a maximum width of almost 11 m.

Here, you can choose from various hitch types and designs: rear-mounted, front-mounted, trailed, with a side drawbar, or combined, with or without integrated conditioners—precisely the option that will best suit your farm.

CLAAS DISCO mowers ensure high operational speed in the field while maintaining a consistently smooth operation with perfect ground contour following. These are machines with unlimited productivity, high reliability, and quality of work. This is why farmers worldwide, including in Ukraine, readily use them. The high popularity of DISCO mowers is also aided by their ability to operate with maximum fuel economy, positively impacting the final profitability of beef cattle farming in agricultural companies.

VOLTO Tedders

Another hit from the CLAAS “green line” is the VOLTO tedders, which are benchmarks for quality and operational efficiency. Available in mounted or trailed versions, they perform high-quality tedding using robust spreading arms and securely mounted tines. Farmers can choose from a wide range of VOLTO tedder modifications with working widths up to 13 m.

CLAAS VOLTO tedders significantly reduce not only the tedding time itself but also the drying time of the forage in the field—severalfold. This allows farmers to promptly collect mown feed from the field, quickly bale it, and transport it for secure storage. Minimum losses and delays combined with high feed quality—this is what distinguishes CLAAS VOLTO tedders.

The design of these tedders incorporates the MAX SPREAD intelligent mass distribution concept, which prevents uneven buildup. The spreading arms, tilted at an angle of 29.3°, ensure high raking efficiency, gentle transfer of forage mass between rotors without damage, and optimal spreading results.

CLAAS LINER Rakes

LINER Rakes

High-class CLAAS LINER rakes can have one to four rotors, depositing the mown mass in the center or on the sides. The working width reaches 15 m, indicating high raking productivity.

The design allows for individual adjustment of each rotor based on harvesting conditions and field topography. CLAAS LINER rakes are controlled using the best intelligent solutions—the CEMIS terminal, or any other ISOBUS-compatible terminal via AUX-N or AUX-O. This allows the operator to easily assign functions to hydraulic distributors, tractor function buttons, and perform all necessary adjustments and operations with maximum precision.
