If you have a garden on your plot, you definitely need to figure out which plants require summer pruning, Express writes. If it is omitted, it can lead to the tree yielding a less bountiful harvest or becoming diseased.
Which plants need pruning in July?
Fruit trees
The ideal time for pruning apple trees is July. Pears and cherries also tolerate branch shortening well. However, the latter are best pruned after you have harvested all the berries. Young shoots only need to be shortened to the third leaf, while broken and diseased branches should be removed completely.
Lavender
When the flowers begin to lose their usual purple color and dry out, the bushes should be pruned to a height of about 30 centimeters above the ground. This will help keep the lavender in good shape and stimulate strong bud growth the following year.

Garden Jasmine
Not all gardeners prune jasmine at all – and that’s a shame. It not only allows you to give the bush a beautiful aesthetic shape but is also beneficial for its health. Air penetrates more easily inside, and the bush becomes less susceptible to diseases. Not to mention that pruning stimulates more abundant flowering the following year.
Wisteria
This climbing plant requires proper pruning in mid-summer. Young shoots should be shortened to a length of 5 leaves – within a year, the wisteria will bloom many times more profusely.

Clematis
If you have an early variety of clematis, then in July you need to remove faded, broken, and dead branches. This will not only improve flowering next year but will also allow the plant to bloom again in August.
Roses
Pruning roses in July is very important, but it must be done carefully. Only dead and diseased branches should be removed.
